Let's face it it's about time we started holding marketing agencies, marketing leaders, and marketing projects to some kind of benchmark.

When I'm asked my thoughts on the future of marketing or what I think about the current state of social media marketing and what's happening with the future of TV advertising I often remind people that for the last 7 to 9 years this industry has been flying by the seat of their pants.

Now "winging it" is something I take great pride add and something I think I'm very good at but the deeper I got into marketing the more I understood where the business value is with things like social media contents public relations SEO the more I realized that the tools technology and customer data limited what could actually be done.

I believe 2017 will be the year we look back on as the true start of transformation within the marketing industry as a whole.   with new technologies such as artificial intelligence, cognitive computing machine learning teamed up with marketing automation dynamic advertising and account-based Marketing Solutions we can now truly measure, scale and understand our clients and our customers like we've always dreamed of.

This first episode in June 2017 I want to share my thoughts on where the CMO duties will make changes in the future, the role digital transformation will play and how we teach and hire employees.  Ultimately I believe the agencies, marketers and thought leaders that have sold rainbows and unicorns, faking it till they make it.  Will now have to put up or shut up as technology is enabling us as marketers to focus on what we should have been focusing on the entire time customer experience, customer engagement, customer feedback and customer relationships that can tangibly be linked to business results.
